The Prototype
The Challenge
I was tasked with redesigning the user experience (UX) and the Social Vibes App's user interface (UI). The primary goals were:
• Create an engaging onboarding experience for users
• Make navigation throughout the app clearer
• Improve the overall aesthetics of the platform
Key
An orange frame will be placed around the design to differentiate between old designs by the company and the newest version of the app.
The Onboarding
The overall structure of the app was redesigned. The first focus was the onboarding process for new users. The main goal was to move away from purely informational content and gamify the experience.
I introduced challenges into the onboarding process to instantly engage users in the Social Vibes atmosphere.
Moving the user's basic sign-up requirements to the end of the onboarding aims to encourage a higher level of buy-in as they have a deeper understanding of the purpose of the app.
Onboarding Illustrations
The illustrations were chosen to showcase everyday actions in a playful way, bringing the user closer to the next steps they will take on their adventures with Social Vibes.

Navigating Social Vibes
The navigation panel has been split into five pages to better distinguish user intention from short-form to long-form interactions. The app uses both a bottom navigation bar and a tab panel to clearly separate content and give breathing room for each item.
A Users Profile
This section of the app acts as a gallery of memories from completed challenges that the user can customise over time. Through participation in the core aspects of the app, users can further personalise and curate their profile experience.
Challenges & Adventures
The goal of the app is to complete activities and adventures. Through these challenges, you can discover new connections and push the boundaries of your comfort zone.
Adventures Styles
To inform users about the type of activity they are engaging with, the Adventure Introduction page showcases interactive icons to provide more detail. These give information like if the event is global or local, if it can be completed solo or requires a group, and if there is an existing community in place.

The adventure section is composed of three main sections; Challenges, Community, and Shop.
Completing an Adventure
The adventures are built on several tiers that have multiple challenges. To progress to the next tier, you must complete at least 60% of the challenges available.
Product Mockup
To further expand the reach of Social Vibes and create quick content for their social media accounts, these mockups were created to showcase the branding and implementation.
The Branding
The visual identity has progressed from phase one to better adapt to mobile applications. Simplifying the logo was more suited to iconography and gave more opportunities to brand the application consistently. Since creating the new logo for the platform, the company has adopted this logo as its new branding style moving forward.
