Through projects I’ve pursued, my work has been driven by social change and design for ability. Considering people and their individual stories when trying to create solutions that empower overlooked communities within society.
My name is Jack and I’m a Product Design BA graduate from NCAD and an MA graduate in Design for Social Impact & Industrial Design at Designskolen Kolding in Denmark.
Since graduating from NCAD, some of my work has been recognised and awarded by a number of organisations, including the National Disability Authority, the Department of Justice and Equality and the Royal Society of Arts.
My degree project, Flo, focuses on designing for neurodiversity, considering how we can support people with conditions like Autism and their ability to navigate the public environment.
It won the Universal Design Grand Challenge in 2020 as well as the Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Award. It was also highly commended by the Undergraduate Awards and the IDI graduate awards.
